Purpose
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring SMS services on a Yeastar PBX using IXICA’s SMS platform. It is intended for system administrators and IT professionals responsible for PBX configuration and messaging enablement.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure the following requirements are met:
An active Yeastar PBX (software or hardware) with administrative access
A valid IXICA SIPControl account
SMS service ordered and provisioned by IXICA
Access to the IXICA SMS portal (ww2.mysms.ca)
Yeastar Linkus Desktop or Mobile App installed (for end-user testing)
High-Level Workflow
Order SMS service from IXICA
Receive IXICA SMS portal credentials
Secure the SMS portal account
Create an SMS channel in Yeastar PBX
Configure webhook and API credentials in the IXICA SMS portal
Complete SMS channel configuration in Yeastar
Assign numbers and permissions
Test SMS functionality using Linkus
Step 1: Order SMS from IXICA
Log in to IXICA SIPControl.
Order SMS service for the required DID(s).
Wait for the confirmation email from IXICA containing:
SMS portal URL
Username
Temporary password
Note: SMS provisioning must be completed by IXICA before configuration can proceed.
Step 2: Secure Your IXICA SMS Portal Account
Navigate to https://ww2.mysms.ca.
Log in using the credentials provided by IXICA.
In the top-right corner, select Account.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and change the password.
Save the updated credentials securely.
Step 3: Create an SMS Channel in Yeastar PBX
Log in to the Yeastar PBX Admin Portal.
Navigate to: Message → Message Channel
Click Add.
Select SMS as the channel type.
Choose ITSP: IXICA.
Yeastar will automatically generate a Webhook (Callback) URL.
Keep this page open, as the Webhook URL will be required in the next step.
Step 4: Configure Webhook and API Credentials in IXICA SMS Portal
Return to https://ww2.mysms.ca.
Paste the Webhook URL copied from Yeastar into the appropriate field.
Generate or enter:
API Key
Secret Key
Set Webhook Type to: Yeastar
Click Save.
This establishes secure, bidirectional communication between IXICA and Yeastar.
Step 5: Complete SMS Channel Configuration in Yeastar
Return to the Yeastar PBX → Message Channel configuration.
Paste the following values obtained from the IXICA SMS portal:
API Key
Secret Key
Callback (Webhook) URL (if required by your Yeastar version)
Click Save.
Step 6: Configure Message Settings
In Yeastar, navigate to the Message Settings tab for the SMS channel.
Configure the following:
Number: The SMS-enabled DID
Inbound Destination: Extension, ring group, or queue for inbound SMS
Allowed Extensions: Extensions permitted to send SMS
Click Save.
Step 7: Test SMS Functionality
Outbound Test (Linkus App)
Open the Linkus App.
Go to: Chat → External → +
Create a new SMS session.
Enter the mobile number in +E.164 format (e.g. +14162734828).
Click Create and send a test message.
Inbound Test
Send an SMS from a mobile phone to the SMS-enabled DID.
Confirm the message is delivered to the configured destination in Linkus.
Troubleshooting Tips
No inbound SMS: Verify webhook URL, firewall rules, and correct webhook type (Yeastar).
Outbound SMS fails: Confirm API Key/Secret Key accuracy and extension permissions.
Linkus not showing SMS: Ensure the user is logged in with an allowed extension and messaging is enabled.
If issues persist, collect screenshots and logs and escalate to IXICA NOC with the affected DID and timestamps.
